Saint John has been my home for my entire career in ICT – more than 40 years – and it has provided me with tremendous opportunities to build the things I want to build and to connect with people who share a passion for growth and creative thinking like very few places I could have chosen to be in.
Saint John is part of a region on the east coast of Canada known for its relaxed lifestyle and folksy familiarity. But in recent years our region has become known for something that has always set us apart and is now paying dividends as we build our knowledge-based economy: an outward look and a comfort with global partnerships and competition.
The world has rarely knocked on our door here so we have become very good at knocking on the doors of others, making friends, and building great things.
The layers of support found in Uptown Saint John create a focal point for the collaborative culture we have in this region. And this collaboration within our community and between the people in the cities of our region are what have built and will continue to build the attractive and effective culture for innovation and aggressive business growth mixed with a high standard of living and genuine community that our reputation is increasingly built on.
I’ve done everything I can to support people who want to join us in building our ICT sector in the Maritimes and I will continue to do so. Our industry and our community is built on bright people and I will continue to join others in welcoming new partners and enabling them to grow here.
