The Smart Grid is the ICT-enabled energy sector and New Brunswick has the road map to build on that other jurisdictions are just starting to talk about.

What New Brunswick’s smart grid leaders know is that the user experience will rule. The energy consumer is king. The consumer of the future wants more than for us to just keep the lights on.

We believe this presents a great opportunity for New Brunswick ICT companies and our global partners in the smart grid space. We are small enough that we can be closer to the user experience.

With renewable energy producers in wind, tidal, and solar as well as LNG, petroleum refining, and even nuclear all within 30 minutes of Uptown Saint John, ICT companies like Shift Energy have an environment like no other to build consumer-focused smart grid technologies and an entrepreneurial energy sector to partner with.
